Combiners

Combiners are assemblies that take multiple L-band signals and integrate them into a single L-band signal that is then multiplexed onto the IFL line.  Conventional L-band dividers do not handle DC power or 10 MHz.  We have developed a solution that de-multiplexes, combines L-band only, passes around 10 MHz and Dc, then re-multiplexes them onto the IFL line.

Combiner/Divider

Sometimes we need to both combine and divide in order to conquer.  If we have a number of modems whose signals we want to combine for up-linking through a set of redundant BUCs we would need to combine the signals of the modems, then divide that signal to create separate paths for of the primary and redundant BUCs,  thus maximizing system availability.

Control Systems

Orbital's modular designs can also be used to build more complex systems.  The components pictured to the right are from a Ku-band system that has redundant LNAs for both horizontal and vertical polarities, redundant external reference BDCs for both high and low band.

The IDU on the plate controls H and V ODUs, and contains 10 MHz oscillators, 10 MHz splitters, TTL switches, Mux Tees, and a set of four port dividers.

Each of the H and V ODUs contains a pair of external reference BDCs that together cover all of the band.

Orbital's unique architecture makes it ideal for deploying new systems with smaller antennas, and retrofitting old systems to the highest quality standards.  For retrofits, costs are kept down by utilizing existing cabling, antennas, and control systems and by minimizing civils costs and time delays due to permitting requirements.

Dividers

Dividers are L-band only devices that take a signal from a BDC or LNB, and distribute the signal to a number of receivers or modems.

The IDU to the right consists of a pair of plates.  The upper plate is a divider array, sending signals out to a set of receivers/modems.

The bottom plate is an Orbital control system.
