Orbital Research Ltd. announces the introduction of it's latest product, the Triband BDC Rack. This product integrates three Block Down-Converters (BDC's) into a single rack-mount chassis to cover the entire band. The European (10.95~11.70 GHz), the North American (11.70~12.25 GHz), and the DBS (12.20~12.75) provide full spectrum coverage. The product includes always-on oscillators to provide minimal drift, and switched LO's for spur-free reception. Low phase noise stability is ensured with double regulated oscillator. The 'Triband', one rack-unit high, has 110 to 230 AC input, regulated switching power supplies. Standard is SMA in, SMA out, but other connector choices are available.

SPECIFICATION GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 1RU, 19 inch rack mount Ku-band block
downconverter assembly translates RF
inputs in the 10.95-12.75 GHz Ku band to
IF outputs in L-band in three manually
switchable bands. The converters contain
internal crystal controlled high stability
frequency references, and as an option,
all crystal oscillators can be constantly
powered up to optimize long-term
stability. Inputs are microwave relay
switched to optimize isolation between
units, and non-selected units will have
their local VCO oscillators powered down
to minimize spurious and in-band
interference. RF
