NEWS RELEASE

Continuing it's SIP (Systems Interface Products) line, and further developing its emphasis of 'Dish to Demod' solutions, Orbital Research Ltd. announces the introduction of the ODMT, Oscillator Dual Mux Tee.  The theme of integration of what has previously been a 'kluged' fix in the industry, into a unique combined solution continues here.  This product unites a Vertical and a Horizontal polarity Mux/Bias Tee with a Master Oscillator Module to discipline the entire spectrum to a single clock.  The Master Oscillator, created specifically for the satellite industry, provides great phase noise (147 dBc @ 1 KHz), great stability (both long, and short term), and sine wave purity with low harmonic content.

The Mux/Bias Tees provide a highpass filtered L-band, assuring DC block to the Rx port, filtered 10MHz, low thru loss, any combination of 50W and 75W in/out impedance transforms, very high Rx to 10MHz port isolation, superior input and output VSWR, and exceptionally low insertion loss.

The combined product is manufactured from allodyned aluminum billets, and is configured for 'back-o-rack' mounting.

Orbital  introduces its

ODMT - Oscillator Dual Mux/Tee

10MHz Oscillator, Dual Multiplexer and Bias Tee, in one package

ODMT Features

Oscillator

·    Great phase noise: -147 dBc/Hz @ 1 kHz

·    Excellent stability, long and short term

·    Sine wave purity, low harmonic content

Bias Tee Mux (One for Horizontal/One for Vertical Polarity)

·    Highpass filtered L band:

rolloff below 900MHz, flat 950 thru 2100MHz

Assures DC block to Rx port and 10 MHz port

·    Filtered 10 MHz

·    Low thru loss from 10MHz input to LNB

·    Lowpass filtered DC, 1 Amp capacity,

2.5 Amp maximum option for transmitters

·    Any combination of 50W and 75W in/out Impedance transforms, (eg. 75W J-1 to 50W J-2)

·    Very low passband ripple

·    Very low L band through loss

·    Very high Rx port to 10MHz port isolation, no leakage back to rx

·    Superior Input and Output VSWR

·    Protects phase noise performance

·    Exceptionally low insertion loss

Functional

·    Will operate with LNBs, VSATs, BUCs, and Modems

·    Will eliminate loss of lock and bit error rate problems caused by poorly designed bias tees and ‘kluged’ solutions

·    Will reduce stray RF ingress into receivers/modems by filtering out all extraneous signals except the desired L band signal

·    Will insure that high level 10 MHz signals are delivered only to the LNB and not back to the receiver or modem.

·    Will filter and condition the DC power to eliminate extraneous signals coming in through the power supply.

Structural

·    Machined from solid aluminum billet for strength and stability

·    Allodyne finish for corrosion protection and excellent RF shielding/grounding

·    Cannon to BNC adapter cable available

·    'Back O Rack' mounting for ease of installation and lead dress (Reduces the mess of cables at the back of the rack and provides stability for cables)

·    Fewer cables and connector yields less signal degradation

·    Connectors are ‘O’ ring sealed for weather resistant operation

Orbital Benefits:

A single 10 MHz Oscillator to discipline both your Vertical and Horizontal signals – Excellent phase noise and stability, integrated with a set of filtered multiplexers and bias tees.  ODMT provides the optimum price/performance benefit.  One box plug and play!

 ·    Lower cost, higher quality with a one-box solution

·    No labor to source, assemble, and test a "Kluge"

·    Custom design variations available

·    Custom labeling requirements welcome
